OUR STORY
THE BEGINNING
In 2016, we formed mountainFLOW eco-wax with a straightforward mission: provide a simple and eco-friendly way to improve the skiing experience. Our first product was a water-based anti-stick spray that reduced snow and ice buildup on top of skis. This product became popular in the backcountry community, where weight is the name of the game. Reducing snow buildup kept skis light and helped skiers to efficiently venture into the mountains without carrying pounds of unnecessary weight.

We soon realized that eco-friendly waxes were a rare commodity in the ski industry. So in 2017 we began testing plant-based glide waxes. We were looking for a product that was easy to apply and that was non-hazardous to the environment.
After 2 years of R&D and over 200 formulations, we developed a line of plant-based wax that worked just as well as conventional, petroleum-based wax
.THE FUTURE
We're excited to expand our product offerings outside of the consumables world. We love to identify ways that things can be done better in the ski and bike industries and then go for it. Our hope is that the every skier and rider will make the choice to use a product that works great and is more friendly to our mountain playgrounds. Below are some new products that just hit the market:
INFRARED (IR) WAXER: Our new IR Waxer is perhaps the biggest and most revolutionary product we've come out with to date. If you're familiar with mountainFLOW, you know we have sold IR Waxers for a while now. Based on that success, we took the old model we were selling and completely redesigned it from the ground-up. The result is a patent-pending tool that is optimized to save you time and wax with no scraping required. That's right, just brush and go.
PLANT-BASED WATER BOTTLES: Yet another industry-first for 2023, we've got Plant-Based Water Bottles. They look and feel like what you're used to but they're made from a corn-based bioplastic instead of traditional petroleum-based plastic. New material but they hold water exactly like you would expect a water bottle to.
BIKE MAINTENANCE KIT IN BAMBOO BOX: New for Summer 2023, we took our classic Whole Enchilada Kit and made it even better. Our new Bike Maintenance Kit includes our new Bike Towel Kit, a collection of 3 bamboo and cotton microfiber towels to polish, lube and clean your bike. Most microfiber towels are made with plastic but not these. They give you all the shine with none of the guilt. Our Wash + Degreaser, Polish, Grease, All-Weather Lube, and Bamboo Brush Set finish out the kit and fit nicely in a bamboo box that doubles conveniently as a wash basin. RECYCLED ALUMINUM SKI POLES: We recently launched the industry's FIRST recycled aluminum ski poles. They are made with space-grade aluminum and have the same strength and durability as any other pole on the market but utilize 95% fewer carbon emissions than virgin aluminum.
